In April 1940, the Germans converted some Panzer IVc and Panzer IVd tanks to bridgelayers to be used primarily in France and Belgium to forge the many rivers over which previous bridges had been destroyed. These were designated Panzer IVb and a total of about 20 were produced. The bridge sections were about 29 feet long each. The Germans designated a specific platoon to operate these bridgelayers.

  • Kit consists of 778 parts on 21 sprues plus a hull, tracks, photo etched parts and markings for the German Army.
  • The bridge sections are movable, and the kit can be built with the bridge section atop the tank or in the bridge-building mode.
