Description
The Bedford OY is a truck built by Bedford for the British armed forces, based on the civilian O-series with a modified front end and single rear wheels.
It entered service in 1939.
The payload was three tons. Several variants existed.
The OYD was a general transport vehicle, while the OYC was a tank version for transporting water or fuel.
These vehicles were widely used during and after World War II until they were replaced by the Bedford RL.
